Description
Yes, the title was inspired by a Meatloaf song. ( "Rock and Roll Dreams Come True" )
The subject, however, is not. (Sorry Marvin. )If you listen to it, though, it does actually fit pretty well.
This actually represents a lot for me. For a long and semi-detailed version, there's this journal I did. ( Here: fav.me/d8mndsi )
But the cliff's notes is that I got one of my dream jobs for this summer. The kind of job that I always wished I could have but never actually counted on getting. However, ask and ye shall receive, I guess.
On a hopeful whim I applied and despite my utter lack of experience, I got the job.
This summer I will be a hiking guide in the Continental Divide. I will literally be paid to hike/explore Colorado for three months.
No, it hasn't sunk in just yet.
So I doodled this as a way to express my utter excitement, however, it keeps flipping from "I am so excited I might actually burst!" to " I think I popped because oh man am I scared."
But jittery nerves aside- I am eager.
Because that girl with the stringy, messy, falling-out braid? That’s me. (And yes, I have that exact hat but in 3-D.) And looking at it is both relaxing, exciting, sentimental and tranquil while still managing to stir up a fair amount of anxiety. But it’s me and my opportunity. It’s my journey that I’m finally beginning it.
So cheers to the summer that will finally deserve a recap when it's over. Here's to my story and to this exciting chapter. I hope to make it a good one.

Colorado is wonderful. I live in Woodland Park, a town nestled right in the mountains. I love it. I so happy that you get the opportunity to explore our beautiful mountains.
