Stick With It!

Art is hard.

In that regard, art is like a plant.You’d think art would be a particularly pretty flower only to reach out and discover that such beauty is only the product of art. The act of making art is a cactus. It’s prickly, defensive and sort of hurts when you touch it.

But here’s the thing. Come rain or those
perpetual seasons of inexplicable drought-a cactus sticks with it. As artists, we’re called to do the same through whatever tornadoes the vague and tumultuous persona of art might toss our way.

It’s up to you to let your dreams and aspirations grow. It takes care and time and a whole lot of commitment.
 
Art is hard.
It’s prickly and confusing. But even prickly things need constant care in order to grow. Frankly, art deserves that much.

So, fellow artists, please, stick with it.
