Dipper Pines

Urg. I don't know how I want to draw these characters and it frustrates me. On one hand, I want to be respectful of how the characters are drawn in the show ( This is something I always try to do in all of my fanart because it is still their property and A) I want to respect that and B) I want the character drawn to still be recognizable, y'know?) But on the other hand, I firmly believe in taking said characters and "property" and adding your own personal flair to them thus blending together the fact that they're a character that isn't yours ( though they still feel like yours 'cuz thats sort of how characters are. They jump into your heart and become a part of you- to an extent.) but it atleast shows your mark on them and how you (me, as the artist) view them. (Also because I don't want to just replicate- as an artist I want to create.)  And that all sounds rambly and confusing. But my point is this- I have no idea how I want to represent these characters as Hirsch's style contrasts greatly from mine and how I draw things. (Although I really envy the way he does colors! Like, it's freakin' gorgeous!) 

And I say all of that just so I can clarify that I drew this and might change how I "design" Dipper for whenever I draw him next.
